What does Ahexo means?

·2 mins

Story is (maybe) more boring than you think. Nothing in particular: Many years ago around 2014, I was trying to sign up a new profile for a school platform. My name was already taken, so I made a scramble of letters in my full name that repeated enough to be distinguishable from the others and pronounceable:

axrs

Alejandro Axel Rodríguez Sánchez

I had to include the x, I like the letter x a lot, I think it’s the letter that stands out the most in my full name.

That’s how I ended up “Ahexo”, Since then I use it almost everywhere on the internet (on this site, for example).

How do you pronounce it? #

In english it would be /əˈhek.sɔ/, like the ah in “ahead” and the exo in “exorbitant”.

How I address you? #

I am rarely called “Ahexo” outside the internet. I am more used to being addressed by my middle name: Axel.

My first name is Alejandro, which is usually shortened as “Alex” or “Ale”, but since that is also my father’s name, it is more common to my family and friends to call me by my second name to avoid confusion. However, my grandma distinguishes us as “Ale grande” (Big Ale) and “Ale chico” (Little Ale, me).

“Axel” is a safe bet, but you may call me whatever you feel like!
